Focus, Erica

Good stuff for this Friday:

1. Work is definitely picking up. I heard from the headhunter; I got another project from yet another new client and will be getting a third soon; I might even be able to unload one client whose work is the most demanding and pays the least.

2. I got Chrossed today -- always a happy thing for me.

3. I'm heading for my sweetie's house in a few hours. Last weekend he was semi-crippled with a pulled back muscle, but now he's much better and in good spirits.

4. I'm looking forward to another lovely Monday with Mr. D.

Things I do not want to think about:

1. What's going on in Boston. I can't deal with it. I was chatting with Mr. D earlier; he's had the news channel on nonstop, and he was up on every detail. I can't do that; I haven't watched the news in days. It's so damn depressing and scary and I know my mind will go to bad places if I don't focus elsewhere. And once it goes there, it's a downward spiral. The reports on the victims are heartbreaking and a sense of powerlessness and fear can loom very large.

2. The fact that hundreds of people, including many friends I adore, are currently convening in Atlantic City for Boardwalk Badness. Even though the party "officially" begins today, many have been there since Wednesday/yesterday, and already the tweets and photos and FetLife comments are showing up. It's going to continue all weekend and into Monday, and then there will be at least a week of post-party reporting.

You know, I'm reading about people's struggles with airports (delayed/cancelled flights), hassles with getting from the airport to the hotel, etc., and part of me is thinking, "I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that stress." But then I remember how the weekend is so well worth that stress. And I wish I could just blink my eyes or twitch my nose and be there.

Distract me, folks. Help me distract myself. Because I'll be damned if I'm going to let my half-empty-glass personality bring me down when there is so much to be happy for right now.

Go spank/get spanked. Go hug your loved ones. And have a great weekend, y'all.

  1. Have a great weekend. A lot is going on the world right now. So do what you can to escape. I haven't commented in a long time I know but I still read your blog and enjoy it a great deal.

Love that you are making your own videos. Someone as great as you in this spanking world shouldn't have to wait for anyone. You are sexy and the perfect brat.

    Thanks for sharing

  2. Jon -- thanks. Well, they're just little amateur clips, nothing much. But they're fun to do. :-)

    1. But the star is far from amateur and that's what makes them great to watch.

  3. Not trying to rub it in, but biggest BBW ever with 240+ people here, I believe. It's great to see so many new and eager faces. We miss you!

  6. Too bad we couldn't hang out for coffee or something. I agree with Jon. You are not amateur as far as I am concerned. I like your short vids. I think they are well done and fun to watch.

  7. Bobbie Jo -- thank you. I hope to make more of them! Mr. D seems quite willing.

  8. I feel the same way about the news...I didn't realize until just today that I have been avoiding it, even online versions of it. Hopefully things will be mostly over with soon. And BBW blows like none other. I'm feeling that. :( Congratulations on being Chrossed, and I hope your Monday is just perfect. :)

  9. Wishing you a wonderful weekend with John, Erica, and a great time on Monday with Mr. D! I think it's definitely a good idea to always focus on the good things in life, even though I am aware that this is not easy at all. I sometimes tend to focus on the things which scare me or make me sad instead of being thankful for and enjoying all the good things in my life. But hey, one can try to get better with time, right? :-)

I'm not having much time online right now, so I haven't managed to watch your clips, yet. But I am looking forward to watching them soon!

  10. I'm glad you're getting a decent workload coming your way for something you LIKE to do. Then it's less like work and more of a fun challenge.

  11. Bonnie-jo -- missing BBW really blows! But at least we got to go to the mini-party in Vegas last month. :-)

Kaelah -- I hope you'll like them. They're very short; won't take a bite out of your time at all. :-) And yes, thinking positively is a virtue, and one I don't fully possess, I'm afraid!

Kelly -- as long as I can do it at home and don't have to deal with people, I love it! :-D

  12. Erica,

Well first off...yes Boston is a nightmare and not much we can do about it, I am affraid to say this is our new life, whether forieng or domestic, just nuts.

As I have said I am an hour away but can not attend, vanilla life and work, so the way I see it, we can't control it so leave it be, it is what it is.

More important, focus on your weekend and week ahead, sounds just lovely.

I spanked a dear friend this week, hand got a tad asses and she got a nice sound bottom warming and that is carrying me through.

    Great post, thanks
    Always
    Ron

  13. Ron -- it was indeed a lovely weekend, and I barely thought of BBW. John did a very good job of distracting me.

  14. I never watch the news. It is too depressing and there's nothing I can do about it, so why focus on it all day long? I don't know how people can watch it nonstop.

If I ever figure out how to create a teleportation device that lets you bring your luggage as well, I'll certainly let you know! The getting there and back does have it's hassles and stresses. I fly out for a SCONY party on Thursday and have to deal with a layover this time. I just hope the damn planes are all on time.

  15. Lea -- I will say a non-denominational prayer to the travel gods for you! I hope you'll have a great time. :-)
